Weymouth and Portland Council have approved a programme which aims to accelerate the delivery of new homes. The programme will identify where the Council can work with others to see the development of allocated and proposed housing sites. This could include upfront funding of infrastructure, providing cash flow, land purchase and partnership working. The Council’s plan builds on examples of best practice across the current which has seen other Council’s implement similar initiatives – this includes East Cambridgeshire Council who have allocated £5 million towards a development opportunities fund.
