Both Poole Borough Council and Purbeck District Council have begun consultations on the review of their respective Local Plans. Purbeck District Council are also undertaking a review of their Community Infrastructure Levy charging schedule.
Purbeck District Council are undertaking a partial review of their Local Plan. One of the principal issues that Purbeck District Council are consulting on is the need for them to provide 238 new homes a year until 2033. This is an increase of 118 new homes a year over and above that which was planned for when the Council undertook its issues and options consultation.

Poole Borough Council’s further issues and options consultation runs until the 8th August 2016. Poole Borough Council has a need to deliver 710 new homes a year until 2033. This is an increase of 5,000 new homes compared to the 9,200 identified within the current planning framework. The consultation seeks views on how these additional homes should be delivered.

It is clear that Poole Borough Council need to accommodate additional housing growth and a variety of sites will be required to deliver this. Chapman Lily are already instructed to make representations on behalf of a number of land owners, including Canford Park a mixed used development comprising 2,500 family homes, approximately 89 hectares of open space together with a new community hub and employment.
