Waverley Borough Council has announced a new Call for Sites as part of the preparation of its updated Local Plan. This initiative will inform the borough’s Land Availability Assessment (LAA) and help identify land suitable for future development.
An initial Call for Sites was conducted between December 2023 and March 2024. However, recent changes to National Planning Policy have significantly increased Waverley’s housing delivery target, from 710 to 1,458 homes per year. This uplift of 748 homes has created an opportunity for additional site submissions to be considered for allocation.
Sites promoted through this process will form a pool from which future allocations may be drawn. Submitting a site during this reopened Call for Sites ensures it will be considered for inclusion in the Local Plan.
The new Call for Sites will run from Friday 12 September to Friday 24 October 2025 and is intended for new sites only, not previously submitted. Submissions can be made for a range of uses including housing, employment, retail, renewable energy, community facilities, green space, and biodiversity projects.
If you are considering promoting your site through this process, please call us for more information on how Chapman Lily Planning can assist to promote your landholding in the best possible light.
