On Friday 15th July New Forest District Council (NFDC) will begin public consultation on the review of their Local Plan.
The review will cover those areas outside of the National Park and will run until the 16th September 2016.
There is a need for NFDC to provide 587 – 687 homes per annum, a total requirement of 11,740 – 13,740 homes to be delivered in the plan period of 2016-2036. The current annual target is 196 homes per annum.
The consultation document identifies a number of strategic sites that could deliver an element of the New Forest’s required housing need. In addition to the strategic sites (sites over 99 units) there is a need for non-strategic sites, 10 – 99 units, to come forward and contribute to the housing need.
As part of the consultation New Forest District Council have identified that they will consider non-strategic housing sites in the review of their Local Plan Part 2 which is timetabled to take place in 2018.
If you have any queries or questions on how the consultation impacts on you or if you have a site to promote and you would like advice on how we can make representations on your behalf please contact Chapman Lily Planning.
