The current housing monitoring data published on NFDC’s website says that the Council is able to demonstrate a housing land supply of 6.11 years. However, Steve Tapscott, Associate Director at Chapman Lily Planning, has undertaken research with the planning policy team at NFDC, who confirm that the figure has recently slipped below five years. Commenting on this, Steve said ‘whilst officers are candid in admitting there is a shortfall, the precise figure is still under wraps. We were told that the official publication of the five-year supply report will take place towards the end of February/early March and the true extent will be revealed. This could open up opportunities for development on the edges of settlements’. If you would like to know more, please contact Chapman Lily
