Mid Devon District Council has commenced its latest Call for Sites consultation, running from 6th February to 14th March 2025, as part of their Housing and Economic Land Availability Assessment (HELAA). This important evidence-gathering exercise will help inform the emerging Local Plan and identify deliverable sites to meet the district’s increased housing and employment needs over the next 15 years. The Council is particularly focusing on small and medium-sized sites of 1 hectare or less, which align with government aspirations to deliver 10% of housing requirements through smaller parcels.
Jonathan Leigh, Senior Planner at Chapman Lily Planning commented that “this consultation presents a valuable opportunity for landowners and developers to put forward sites that could help shape Mid Devon’s sustainable growth. Our team have substantial experience in assisting with site promotion and with the heightened focus on delivering smaller sites that can support SME builders, self-build projects and community-led schemes, alongside traditional larger-scale developments, we urge you to consider this opportunity.”
