Fareham Borough Council is is consulting on the the Revised Publication Plan; with comments invited up to 30th July 2021.
Revisions were needed to ensure that the plan would be robust and up-to-date upon adoption. Predicted housing needs increased 34% from 403 to 541 dwellings per year following the Governments decision to scrap changes to the way that the standard housing methodology is calculated. Subregional evidence also indicated that employment needs also increased by 16% over the plan period.
Brett Spiller, explained ‘Those with a keen interest in this part of Hampshire will no doubt welcome the consultation and the additional flexibility afforded by the plan. This final stage of consultation also allows those who have hitherto not engaged a chance to comment, albeit it should be noted that the Council is not inviting alternative proposals and comments should have regard to the tests set out in legislation’.
