Chapman Lily Planning are delighted to have secured permission for the extension of an existing car park at the well-established Club at Meyrick Park, in Bournemouth. We were able to demonstrate to the Council and Committee that with appropriate mitigation such as landscaping and tree planting, the impact on the conservation area was less than substantial and did not outweigh public benefit. Meyrick Park is also covered under the “Five Parks” legislation which sets specific parameters for parking provision. Though this was initially brought forward as a concern, Clare was able to demonstrate that Meyrick Park is allowed one hectare, of which the proposal, plus the existing car parks, would still be under this allowance.
Clare Bolton, Assistant Planner at Chapman Lily Planning commented “thank you to the project team for all their efforts, particularly Becci at ABR Ecology for their expertise. I am thrilled to have secured an approval at committee which addresses the longstanding safety concerns for the Club and allow them to continue their growth.”
