Chapman Lily Planning Limited were delighted to have attended the Dorset Young Planners CPD event ‘consultations and engagement in planning’ which provided an opportunity to meet the RTPI President, Lindsey Richards. It was inspiring to hear about Lindsey’s focus as RTPI President to make young people aware of planning and to tackle misinformation and negative headlines surrounding planning.
It was great to reaffirm knowledge from speakers Liz Williams and Lucy Pearce about the importance of early engagement with the community – a notion that Chapman Lily Planning Ltd has always championed, to learn about the community engagement requirements in Local Plan making and tools to better engage with the public from speaker Francis Summers, and to learn about gender inclusive design from speaker Jennie Savage and the importance of effective engagement.
Chapman Lily Planning are proud that many of our team are members of the Dorset Young Planners steering group, helping to organise CPD events such as this throughout the year and engaging with national agendas.
