The papers for next week’s meeting of Wiltshire Council’s cabinet have been published and this includes a timeline for the production of their new Local Plan. The scoping consultation is due to commence in early September 2026 with consultation on the plans content and evidence due to take place in April 2027 with subsequent key actions timetable for 2027 and 2028 leading up to a submission date (for examination) in October 2028.
Giles Moir, Director at Chapman Lily Planning, commented that “the local plan process provides an opportunity for land owners and developers to engage with the Council to promote sites for future development, the early stages of the local plan consultation allows for submissions to be made to the Council with the aim to steer and shape the form of the plan”.
