The emerging Housing Allocations Plan has reached a key milestone, with the Council resolving to publish a draft plan setting out its preferred sites for development. The objectives of the Plan are threefold, to:
- Ensure that defined settlement boundaries truly reflect the extent of the built-up areas;
- To help demonstrate a rolling 5-year supply of deliverable land for housing; and
- To allocate sites in accordance with the adopted Wiltshire Core Strategy that deliver the balance of the 42,000 new homes needed up to 2026 (taking into account completions and commitments).
The Draft Plan will be published for consultation over a 10 week period starting in mid-July.
