Wiltshire Council have published the agenda for their forthcoming Cabinet meeting on 13th December – this includes a paper which seeks Councillor’s approval to delay the progress of the Local Plan review.
Giles Moir, Director at Chapman Lily Planning, commented that ‘the November 2021 LDS indicated that the draft Wiltshire Local Plan would be published for consultation (reg 19) in quarter 4, 2022. Councillors are being asked to delay this key stage in the plan making process until quarter 3 2023. The revised LDS sets out that submission of the plan to Secretary of State and examination will be delayed until quarter 2, 2024 and adoption of the plan is now scheduled for end of quarter 4, 2024, as opposed to quarter 4 of 2023 (as proposed in the current Local Development Scheme)…and the revised LDS doesn’t take into account the content of Michael Gove’s letter from Monday!’.
