Stinsford Neighbourhood Plan out for consultation
The final version of the Stinsford Neighbourhood Plan has been submitted to Dorset Council for examination. Dorset Council are subsequently carrying out a consultation on the submitted plan running from Wednesday 13th October until Wednesday 24th November 2021 providing individuals the opportunity to comment on both the content of the plan and how it was produced.
The Stinsford Neighbourhood Plan covers an area of land to the north and east of Dorchester and will cover the period 2021-2038. The plan has an underlying common theme that runs through the proposed wide-ranging policies identified as ‘protection’. The plan is interesting as it overlays one of Dorset Council’s main Local Plan options, however due to the strategic allocation of this site, the neighbourhood plan states ‘whether the suggestion for major growth in the form of a whole new ‘neighbourhood’ north of Dorchester goes ahead or not, it is a strategic decision which cannot be decided through a neighbourhood plan.’
