With planning application fees now being subject to an annual increase linked to the rate of inflation (as measured by the Consumer Price Index) the 1st April 2026 will see an increase in all planning application by 3.8%, rounded to the nearest pound.
The increase in fees will see an application for 1-9 dwellings increase from £588 per dwelling to £610 per dwelling, Householder applications will increase to £659 per dwelling and a discharge of condition application will increase (for a non-householder application) to £309.
The fee increases form part of the Government’s ongoing move to fund planning services more sustainably.
