As reported by Chapman Lily Planning in October 2017 ( www.clplanning.co.uk/?p=529 ) planning fees are set to rise by 20%. In addition to the 20% increase a fee will also be introduced for applications required as a result of the removal of permitted development rights (previously these applications didn’t attract a fee).
A new fee will also be introduced for Permission in Principle applications.
The regulations to introduce the planning fee increase were made on the 20th December which means that Council’s will be able to start applying the fee increase from 17th January 2018.
