Chapman Lily Planning have previously reported on the delay to the Government’s proposal to increase planning application fees by 20% https://www.clplanning.co.uk/?p=501 . However, the Government has now started to move forward with it’s proposal for a 20% fee increase with draft regulations being laid before Parliament. As well as making provision for an increase in planning application fees the regulations introduce;
- a future fee structure for applications for permission in principle,
- the ability for mayoral development corporations and urban development corporations to charge for pre-application advice, and
- a fee for applications which relates to permitted development where an article 4 exists or permitted development rights have been removed by condition (these applications are currently free!).
It is expected that the proposed fee increases will take affect before the end of the year.
If you have any questions or queries in relation to the proposed fee increases and how this may impact upon your development proposal please contact Chapman Lily Planning.
