Government (Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities) has recently published proposals for the planning system to be more ‘lenient’ with its permitted development rights in order to support such things as; temporary recreational campsites (interestingly suggesting no more than 30 tents to be erected on the land at any one time for up to 60 days per calendar year), renewable energy such as construction of solar canopies on non-domestic car parks, EV charging points, and extending the rights for the use of buildings and land for film-making consultation.
Chapman Lily Associate Director Alan Davies stated ‘on the face of it, we broadly welcome the proposed changes – we will look at the consultation in depth and will be sending government our comments’.
