Dorset Council announced today that the timescale for the adoption of the Dorset Local Plan has been extended by a further 2 years until 2026.
The Council have reported that the extended timeframe has been agreed to allow for a focus on “the right development in the right places, the right quality and on climate and ecological considerations”. As part of the announcement Dorset Council confirmed that they will be a pilot for the new national approach to the production and adoption of Local Plans.
Dorset Council have also requested that Central Government agree to a temporary exemption from the housing land supply requirements.
