Dorset Council has begun a consultation focusing on proposed modifications to the Purbeck Local Plan, which is currently undergoing examination with the Planning Inspectorate. Commenting on the consultation, Steve Tapscott, senior planner at Chapman Lily, said ‘after a year’s delay in the examination process, it is encouraging to see that the Council has finally published its intended modifications to the plan and is inviting comments on it. This process is highly focused, concentrating only on the modifications and does not present an opportunity to reopen issues already discussed through the examination. Depending on the outcome of the consultation, it should mean that the remaining stages can proceed at a quicker pace, resulting in the certainly for communities and the development industry that an adopted local plan can provide’.
If you would like to know more about progress on the Purbeck Local Plan, Chapman Lily Planning would be happy to advise.
