BCP Council are running a 4-week public consultation on the draft parking standards for the conurbation, ending 12th October 2020. This aims to support the delivery of parking for future development whilst emphasising sustainable transport opportunities in Four zones. We identified that the parking standards are linked to accessibility to shops, services, employment and leisure opportunities as well as travel nodes.
Emma Ralphs, Graduate at Chapman Lily Planning described this as a ‘’positive step forward for BCP Council, providing uniform parking regulations for the area, replacing the current parking standards and supporting sustainable transport measures. It will facilitate higher densities in accessible locations, promoting the regeneration of brownfield land and delivering much needed housing to bring vitality back into our town centres.’’
