We are delighted to be leading a consortium of agents, promoters and developers in responding to the emerging BCP Local Plan which is currently out for Reg19 consultation. The consortium comprises regional and national housebuilders Bellway Homes, Miller Homes Ltd, AJC Group, Wyatt Homes, Fortitudo Ltd, land promoter WH White Limited and Jeremy Gardiner of Pegasus Group. We are also pleased to have the support of the Land, Planning and Development Federation.
There is a genuine shared concern that the voices of the development industry, businesses and those in housing need simply aren’t being heard.
The consortium’s main focus is on the proposed housing numbers that, if adopted, fall almost 1,200 homes a year short of the advisory target set out by the Government. The consortium want to ensure that the emerging plan is justified and effective as required by National Planning Policy. The real world consequences of insufficient housing supply and delivery causes frustration in accessing appropriate housing, reduces affordability (with hidden households and a growing affordable housing needs register a symptom), reduced funding for infrastructure and revenues, businesses reporting that they are struggling to attract and retain talent. Sound familiar?
If you are a local agent, promoter and / or developer and would like to join or support the consortium, please contact Brett Spiller or Sophia Dykes of Chapman Lily Planning Ltd.
