Working with Union Architecture and Treecall Consulting, Chapman Lily Planning are pleased to secure permission on appeal for a new, detached, property in Poole. The appeal followed a very protracted determination period by the Council (22 months). Commenting on the design of the proposal the Inspector commented,
“The proposed dwelling’s overall scale is diminutive, while it would have a modern vernacular stemming from its form and materiality. The proposal’s design would be unlike anything within the immediate nearby vicinity, but unashamedly so”.
The dwelling is set amongst mature trees and the Inspector recognised that the auger would minimise ground disturbance and with regard to concerns about future pressure the Inspector recognised that the surrounding trees are species with high canopies which would allow sufficient light to the proposed property and given the existence of a group TPO the Council could resist any future applications to fell or prune the trees.
Giles Moir, Director at Chapman Lily Planning, commented “we are delighted to have secured the appeal of our client and the analysis with regard to the design approach and relationship with surrounding trees provides a very useful reference for other projects”.
If you have a project were the Council are concerned with the design approach or relationship with trees, please contact us to see if Chapman Lily Planning can assist.
