Chapman Lily Planning Ltd are delighted to have secured planning permission at appeal for the redevelopment of a site in Poole with 80 apartments. The appeal site is located just north of the Poole Civic Centre site on Commercial Road and with part of site falling within a conservation area. The appeal proposals involved the demolition of existing buildings on the site and construction of a six-storey building in replacement. The Inspector determining the appeal considered that the redevelopment of the site offered a clear potential to improve the appearance of the area and would provide a strong focal point with an interesting design which relates well to the nearby civic buildings. The Inspector also commented that the accessibility of the site made it suitable for occupiers who may not have access to a car. Matt Holmes, Director at Chapman Lily Planning comments that ‘we are delighted to have secured planning permission for the redevelopment of this prominent site within Poole at appeal. Working as part of a wider project team we were able to show that the scheme would be appropriate in its context and the scheme will deliver much needed new homes in a highly accessible location’
