Brett Spiller, Director at Chapman Lily Planning, was recently approached by the editor of the Royal Town Planning Institute’s Branch-Out magazine to write an article on ‘a day in the life of a Planning Consultant’. Well, here it is in print! The full article can be read here: branch-out-ed187-links.pdf (rtpi.org.uk)
Brett was a longstanding member of the Regional Management Board and a former Regional Chairman, as well as a member of the national General Assembly and life-long learning Committee. Brett commented: ‘Whilst planning has become a political football in recent years, our professional ideals and purpose remain strong. I would encourage those new and old to get involved in the RTPI. We need an effective voice, create a system that empowers planners to meet customer expectations and deliver development in the public interest. Whilst it doesn’t currently feel like it the Institute should be the architect of our profession’s destiny.’
